26-27 Admissions Office Assistant
Collaborates with staff in Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar’s Office to deliver mission critical services to new and returning students, and alumni.
2.          Duties include but are not limited to completing tasks by using basic office machines, such as computers, fax machine, copier, and calculator.
3.          Schedule appointments as necessary for students and prospective students for admissions counseling, placement testing, and others as needed.Â
4.          Supports Enrollment Services Office Aide as potential first point of contact for the Office of Admissions which includes phone, email, and in-person inquiries and visitors. Maintain an orderly and welcoming office environment, greet all visitors with pleasant and professional demeanor, and assist visitors in locating campus resources and services (including other offices on campus, parking information, local information about Toppenish and/or Yakima Valley).
5.          Answers inquiries related to department services, programs, and operations. This includes assisting the public in person or by phone, screen and route phone calls, and scheduling appointments with admissions staff.
6.          Assist with upkeep of the lobby in Student Services, light dusting, organizing, restocking coffee supplies and materials for the lobby area.
7.          Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned.
Kitchen Assistant
Work with other staff to provide service to customers in a smooth and cooperative atmosphere. Customers include those who attended in the dining area, childcare meals provided, and catering for various events. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Learn to manage time and work habits in an efficient manner.
Learn to work well with others for the same common goal and benefit.
Learn the skill of customer service / customer satisfaction.
Learn to prepare foods and take responsibility for cafeteria products.

B. Abilities: The position requires LIFTING of heavy boxes and pots. Also, standing for long periods of time is required. There may be a need to push carts across campus or drive to get food to the required location. The ability to accommodate customers in a pleasant and courteous manner is required.
This position provides assistance to our Library users with computer usage, circulation, and information services in the following ways:
*Learn to use, troubleshoot, and instruct others in the use of computers, databases, and the online catalog
*Be able to assist faculty, staff, and students to locate desired materials in the Library and provide answers to basic questions
*Create and maintain accurate library user records according to specific procedures, charge and discharge materials for users, check out equipment with required contracts, fix minor printer issues and copier jams, and use the Library of Congress Classification System to accurately shelve returned items
*Work on Library projects that require the use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, or other software used in the Library
*Work on detailed projects for Circulation and Technical Services
*Other duties and projects as assigned
The student becomes confident in using Library of Congress Classification System and library resources to locate electronic and print materials for academic research purposes. This knowledge helps them to not only excel in their own coursework, but also makes them comfortable instructing other students in the research process, as well. Research skills are valuable for the student now and often instill a lasting love of discovery and lifelong learning.
*The student also learns the expectations of a professional position, as well as the vocabulary that is specific to the work environment, which will serve them well in their professional jobs after graduation.
*The student becomes practiced at providing excellent customer service to our users and resolving basic customer issues that may arise with the users, which will provide them with the confidence that they can not only handle issues, but can also develop excellent rapport with the Library users and each other.
*The library has several large projects that enable a student to work independently and to clearly communicate their progress with their supervisors and other team members who are working on the same project, which is a vital skill for the professional work environment.
*Completing assignments in a timely fashion instills both the importance of not only completing a project correctly with attention to detail, but also meeting deadlines in the workplace, which provides a sense of accomplishment.
Must be able to be organized, do detailed work, be self-directed, work well both independently and with a team, and willing to acquire new knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as soliciting feedback to ensure their work meets standard. ask questions to seek clarification, knowledge, and understanding.
Must be able to correctly place items in alphanumeric order, follow directions, and have the ability to work well with supervisors, peers, and patrons
Capable of learning or have knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office
