Social Problems (SOC 201)

Description

Exploration, through theory and research, of how American society defines and reacts to "social problems" as social issues and public policy; considers such headings as: the economy and society (unemployment, business, government and labor), social inequality (wealth, poverty, race and gender), the family, the workplace, health, energy, environment quality, crime and justice, and national security. Prerequisites: ENG 101; SOC 101 or POSC 101. Offered Spring semesters.
