Description

Psychosocial health principles and theories. The emphasis is on psychosocial health promotion during changes in health and illness states, and promotion of emotional and psychosocial health during developmental changes, rather than on the pathology of mental disease. Students will learn how to use theories of health behavior borrowed from the psychosocial disciplines; and those generated in nursing. Principles of screening and nursing care of individual and family responses to psychosocial distress. Prerequisite(s): PSY 325W PSY 101 SOC 101 NURS 300A NURS 207 Co-requisite(s): NURS 314L
