Description
This course studies the causes of the sectional conflicts from founding of the U.S., compromises over new western territory and the extension of slavery into the new territories. It includes an examination of the war itself and the Reconstruction period in the South to 1877. Prerequisite: HIS 204, HIS 205W or permission of program chair. Offered Spring Semester.
