The advanced study of American literature from the Modernist movement in the late 19th Century to the present, emphasizing research with primary and secondary sources and teaching the full diversity of American literature. Offered Spring semester. Recommended: An undergraduate introduction to literature or advanced literature course and a literary theory course (such as ENG 450W/ENG 550 ) or permission of Program Chair.
