Description
The advanced study of American literature from the pre-colonial period to the rise of realism in the late 19th Century, emphasizing research with primary and secondary sources and teaching the full diversity of American literature. Offered Fall Semester. Recommended: An undergraduate introduction to literature or advanced litertaure course and a literary theory course (such as ENG 450W/ENG 550 ) or permission of Program Chair.
