Description

The internship is a mentored, integrated, sequential field experience planned by the program candidate, college supervisor, and district mentor. The two semester (candidates register for four credits fall and four credits spring semester) internship provides opportunity to apply theory to the real life of the school while learning the leadership role and responsibilities of the principal. During the internship, interns assess their knowledge, skills, dispositions, and cultural competence related to the Washington Principal/Program Administrator Pre-Service Standards-Based Benchmarks and ISLLC Standards. The internships requires a minimum of 540 hours; a detailed activity log, reflection, and attendence at seminars. A professional portfolio will be developed to show performances and competencies meeting Washington State Standards for Residency Certification. Graded "Pass" (P) or "No Pass" (NP).
