Description

Networking II addresses industry standard cabling, connection schemas and procedures, advanced LAN and WAN and routing, and RIP TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting with special attention on the use of ICMP and TCP/IP troubleshooting utilities and techniques related to maintenance and troubleshooting. Topics include understanding advanced routing protocols, applying and implementing the OSI model, and remote connectivity and security. Participants will install. configure, implement, and troubleshoot a lab-based local local area network using advanced implementation, subnetting, and routing techniques. Prerequisite: C or better in CPSC 235 Networking I or equivalenty. Offered spring semesters of odd-numbered years.
