Personal Biography

I earned at BA in Psychology from Western Washington University in 1996 and an MSW from Eastern Washington University in 2001. My professional background includes 8 years in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as some time spent in children's mental health and in a group home setting for children with developmental disabilities. I have experience with direct individual services, support groups, program and grant management and supervision. I've been a full-time faculty member at Heritage since 2007.  I started as the Field Director overseeing field practicum placements, and I became the Chair of the program in 2016.

Description

This course is required for all social work majors. Ethics are an integral component in all aspects of generalist social work practice, the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) code of Ethics is the guide to direct practitioners conduct. TheNASW ethical standards provide guielines for what is ethically acceptable and unacceptable behavior. The ethical standards helps social workers identify ethical issues in practice, a brief history of the professions of social work will precede the study of the NASW Code Ethic in addition. . Crosslisted as SOC 430. Offered fall Semester.
