Description

Focuses on nursing procedures related to restoring and maintaining physiologic health needs and processes: Mobility, comfort, protection, sleep and rest, oxygenation, nutrition and elimination. The course builds on aesthetic and personal knowledge, and incorporates principles of ethical comportment. Through modular laboratory experiences, the student acquires psychomotor skills to provide safe and effective nursing care. Students should expect to spend approximately 90 hours in the clinical practicum throughout the semester, including laboratory simulation, laboratory practice, and applied care of persons in the clinical field. Prerequisite(s): NURS 114W, NURS 205, NURS 206 or Co-requisite(s): NURS 114W, NURS 205, NURS 206
