The Long Sixties (1954-1975) witnessed historic changes unfold around the world, culminating in the upheavals of 1968 in Mexico and Brazil; France, Poland, and Germany; Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia; Japan, Vietnam, and Pakistan; South Africa, Egypt, and Tunisia; and the United States. This course explores the global Sixties by taking a comparative approach to the Cold War and decolonization, movements for sexual liberation and human rights, the counterculture and communism, and more.
