Description
Founded on assumptions from emancipatory knowing in nursing; population based nursing care, with emphasis on overcoming social determinants of poor health in vulnerable populations. Regulations related to nursing practice of public health principles. Students will think critically about the roles and responsibilities of the community oriented nurse in the context of epidemiology, disease prevention, health promotion, protection, maintenance, restoration, and surveillance. Examines foundational pillars of assurance, assessment and policy development to extend relationship-based nursing to the community as the unit of care.
