Arsenal Captain Kim Little Signs New Contract

Kim Little has committed her future to Arsenal despite suffering a hamstring injury, signing a new contract at North London. Since joining as a 17-year-old she has amassed an incredible total of 164 goals in 290 appearances at Arsenal.

She now stands as the seventh all-time appearance holder at Arsenal and will remain at The Emirates for some time to come. Thanks to an extension, she can continue winning titles.

Kim Little has signed a new contract despite suffering from a hamstring injury which will keep her out for the remainder of Arsenal's season, having played 290 matches during two periods with them and scoring 164 goals during both spells.

Since joining the club in 2008, she has won five league titles and three FA Cups, as well as earning her inaugural Women's Players' Player of the Year Award from Professional Footballers' Association (PFA). Furthermore, she represented Scotland internationally.

In March 2019 she suffered a hamstring injury during Arsenal's 2-0 Champions League quarter-final win against Bayern Munich; since then she has signed a new deal to remain with Arsenal.

Little has made waves as an outstanding Scottish and English footballer throughout her career, winning national and international accolades alike. She won Scottish League MVP in her first season with Arsenal, was PFA Player of the Year twice, and received an MBE for services to football in 2023.

She is the club’s seventh all-time appearance holder

Kim Little has renewed her contract despite an injury setback and made 290 appearances over two stints since joining Arsenal back in 2008.

At present, she stands as seventh on the all-time appearances list and has won six league championships and three FA Cups while with the club.

She has scored 164 goals in 286 appearances.

Scottish international Alyson Clarke has been an integral member of Arsenal Women's squad for several seasons and was instrumental in their Continental League Cup victory over Chelsea this year.

Experienced players like her are essential components of Arsenal's women's side and they will play a critical role in their bid for another European crown this season. Her absence would be a devastating setback as competition in the Women's Super League heats up.

She has won six league titles and three FA Cups

Little was an integral member of Seattle Reign FC (2014-15), winning back-to-back NWSL Shield championships and being honored as MVP. She also participated in Australia's Melbourne City on loan during their 2015 season, scoring one goal against rival Melbourne Victory.

Little enjoyed an outstanding run at Arsenal, winning five league titles and three FA Cups during her tenure there. She was part of Scotland's squad that reached the quarter-finals at London 2012.

She helped Arsenal win the Treble in 2008/09 by scoring 24 goals and leading them to an undefeated 20-1-1 record, earning her FA Players' Player of the Year honors. Additionally, she scored an early first-half penalty against Everton during an extra time loss 3-2 in 2010.

Little has ambitions to represent Great Britain at the Olympic Games and aims to help Arsenal claim a third Women's Super League championship this year. Her new contract from Arsenal shows their faith in her.

She has been awarded an MBE

Kim Little, 32 years old and Arsenal captain since her second spell at the Emirates Stadium between 2007 and 2011, won five league titles and three FA Cups during her two terms at Arsenal before becoming one of Scotland's standout players. Kim received her MBE for services to football in the New Year Honours list 2023.

Mintlaw-born midfielder Claire Egan began her career with Hibs, scoring 88 goals in 48 matches before signing with Arsenal in 2008. Since then she has made over 200 appearances for Arsenal alone while she also played for OL Reign FC of Seattle Reign in US Women's National League as well as Melbourne City FC in Australia's W-League.

She amassed 140 caps for Scotland, helping qualify them for their inaugural World Cup tournament in 2019 while leading them past Sweden 1-0 at Euro 2022. On top of all this, King's New Year Honours list honoured her and England Women teammates Jen Beattie, Leah Williamson Beth Mead and Ellen White for their contributions in women's football.
